چکیده

Auxin is a key regulator of plant development affecting the formation and maturation reproductive structures. The apoplastic route auxin transport engages influx efflux facilitators from PIN, AUX ABCB families. polar localization these proteins constant recycling plasma membrane to endosomes dependent on Rab-mediated vesicular traffic. Rab are anchored membranes via posttranslational addition two geranylgeranyl moieties by Geranylgeranyl Transferase enzyme (RGT), which consists RGTA, RGTB REP subunits. Here, we present data showing that seed in rgtb1 mutant, with decreased capacity, disturbed. Both pre- post-fertilization events affected, leading decrease yield. Pollen tube recognition at stigma its guidance micropyle compromised coat forms incorrectly. Excess sporophytic tissues ovule plants leads an increased tendency autonomous endosperm unfertilized ovules influences embryo maternal manner. results show importance traffic for sexual reproduction flowering plants, highlight RGTB1 as component sporophytic-filial signaling.

Rab geranylgeranyl transferase β subunit is essential for male fertility and tip growth in Arabidopsis

Rab proteins, key players in vesicular transport in all eukaryotic cells, are post-translationally modified by lipid moieties. Two geranylgeranyl groups are attached to the Rab protein by the heterodimeric enzyme Rab geranylgeranyl transferase (RGT) αβ. Partial impairment in this enzyme activity in Arabidopsis, by disruption of the AtRGTB1 gene, is known to influence plant stature and disturb g...

Plastid lysophosphatidyl acyltransferase is essential for embryo development in Arabidopsis.

Lysophosphatidyl acyltransferase (LPAAT) is a pivotal enzyme controlling the metabolic flow of lysophosphatidic acid into different phosphatidic acids in diverse tissues. A search of the Arabidopsis genome database revealed five genes that could encode LPAAT-like proteins. We identified one of them, LPAAT1, to be the lone gene that encodes the plastid LPAAT. LPAAT1 could functionally complement...

Rab geranylgeranyl transferase alpha mutation in the gunmetal mouse reduces Rab prenylation and platelet synthesis.

Few molecular events important to platelet biogenesis have been identified. Mice homozygous for the spontaneous, recessive mutation gunmetal (gm) have prolonged bleeding, thrombocytopenia, and reduced platelet alpha- and delta-granule contents. Here we show by positional cloning that gm results from a G-->A substitution mutation in a splice acceptor site within the alpha-subunit of Rab geranylg...

Exocyst subunit SEC3A marks the germination site and is essential for pollen germination in Arabidopsis thaliana

Arabidopsis exocyst subunit SEC3A has been reported to participate in embryo development. Here we report that SEC3A is involved during pollen germination. A T-DNA insertion in SEC3A leads to an absolute, male-specific transmission defect that can be complemented by the expression of SEC3A coding sequence from the LAT52 promoter or SEC3A genomic DNA. No obvious abnormalities in the microgametoge...

A G-protein beta-subunit is essential for Dictyostelium development.

Recent studies have demonstrated that G-protein-linked signal transduction pathways play a significant role in the developmental program of the simple eukaryotic organism Dictyostelium. We have reported previously the isolation of a G-protein beta-subunit and present here a more complete analysis of this gene. Low-stringency Southern blots and RFLP mapping studies suggest that the beta-subunit ...
